Xiaomi Redmi 8, the next affordable smartphone of the Xiaomi brand, is listed on the Chinese regulator site TENAA before its launch. The M1908C3IC model number has been used for the phone in the Tina listing. It is believed that this handset will be launched in the name of Redmi 8 in the future. It seems that the phone has a dual rear camera setup and the teardrop notch is available at the front. Many specifications of the phone have also become public through online listings. It is clear from these specifications that this phone is an upgrade of Redmi 7 and Redmi 7A launched this year. Apart from Redmi 8, there is also talk of this Chinese company bringing a new budget smartphone Redmi Note 8.
According to the Tina listing, the model number of the Redmi phone is M1908C3IC. The same model number was used for the Redmi 7 when it was listed on Tina before it was launched. It is a sign that the upgrade to the new handset listed Redmi 7 will be Redmi 8.
Photos available on Tina’s site show that like the Redmi 7, the Redmi 8 will also have teardrop style notch. Xiaomi calls it after the name of Notch. On the back side, the phone has dual camera setup. There is also an LED flash module along with it. The company has also given the fingerprint sensor on the back side.
Redmi 8 specifications
According to the listing, this dual SIM redmi phone will run on Android 9 Pie. It has a 6.217-inch HD + (720×1520 pixels) TFT display, with 19: 9 aspect ratios. The octa-core processor has been used in the handset. RAM has three variants – 2 GB, 3 GB and 4 GB. Similarly, there are three variants of storage – 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. Apart from this, users will also be able to use MicroSD card up to 512 GB. The primary sensor in the dual rear camera setup of Redmi 8 is 12 megapixels. It has an 8 megapixel selfie camera.
The Redmi 8 is listed in the Tina listing with a 5,000 mAh battery. Remember that the Xiaomi Redmi 7 was brought to the market with a 4,000 mAh battery. Apart from this, the phone can support fast charging.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that a Redmi phone with M1908C3IC model number has been listed online. The same model number was recently listed at the 3C site in China, along with the M1908C3IE model number. It is believed that it may be a different variant of Redmi 8.
